Natural nausea remedies that actually work in pregnancy

When it comes to pregnancy nausea, a few strategies have genuine evidence behind them and others are mostly harmless but unproven. What works: eating small amounts frequently (an empty stomach makes nausea worse), keeping bland crackers by the bed to eat before getting up, ginger in any form (ginger tea, ginger chews, ginger ale with real ginger), vitamin B6 (10–25mg three times daily has strong evidence and is often the first-line recommendation from providers), cold foods and drinks (which have less smell and are often better tolerated), and staying hydrated. Sea-bands (acupressure wristbands) help some women.

What doesn't have much evidence: lemon scent, though many women find it soothing. If vomiting is preventing you from keeping fluids down, contact your provider about prescription options.
