Extreme fatigue in the first trimester
The bone-deep exhaustion of early pregnancy is real and has a physiological explanation: your body is building an entirely new organ (the placenta), dramatically increasing blood volume, and sustaining a surge in progesterone — all of which signal the body to rest. Many women describe first trimester fatigue as the most intense tiredness they've ever felt. It typically peaks around weeks 8–10 and improves significantly for most women once the second trimester begins.
Rest without guilt, go to bed earlier, delegate where you can, and eat iron- and protein-rich foods to keep your energy steadier throughout the day.
